The Maharani collection grew from Nina’s memories of a two-month journey through India in 2004, a trip she described as a turning point in her creative life.
From travel to a collection
In the original design story, Nina recalled traveling with her now-husband and returning with the confidence to pursue jewelry more fully. Architecture, color and the relationship between people and place became reference points for the Maharani collection.
Letting the stones keep their character
The archived collection story described a restrained approach to some stones, allowing natural forms and variations to remain visible. The photographed jewelry shows that interest in color and organic shape. These are historical collection images, rather than a promise that the original pieces can be ordered today.
A lasting design question
How much should a setting add, and how much should it leave for the stone to express? That question gives this collection story a useful place beside a gemstone buying guide. One explains the designer’s point of view; the other helps you compare the stone itself.
