A 2017 team excursion along the Mekong Delta offered a close look at the landscape behind the collection’s name.
Leaving the studio for the river
In the original account, credited to James, Nina invited a few members of the Saigon team to explore the area after a week working on the collection. They traveled to Cai Be, boarded a wooden riverboat and watched daily activity along the waterways.
Color, movement and local work
The diary moved from shaded banks and floating plants to a shared meal and visits around the islands. Its value is the observation of place: the pace of a boat, the textures of a riverbank and the everyday work visible from the water. It is a record of that trip, rather than a current tour itinerary.
A collection with a connection to place
The historical Mekong collection announcement explains the jewelry launch. This travel note preserves a different part of the story: the team seeing the region together.
