Five Permanent Jewelry Chain Styles for a Focused Starter Inventory

Nina Wynn 14k yellow gold Figaro chain

A starter assortment works best when each chain has a clear role. Compare the look, link dimensions and ordering unit, then choose a range you can explain and replenish. These five style families offer a useful comparison framework; they are not a sales ranking or a required bundle.

1. Cable: compare a quiet everyday look

Cable chains use a repeating link pattern that can create a simple visual line. The same style name can cover different link proportions and wire sizes, so compare the actual dimensions rather than assuming all cable chains behave alike.

Look at the openings where findings will attach and assess a sample before offering the design. Browse the current wholesale chain collection for available options; a photograph alone does not tell you whether a particular jump ring will fit.

2. Paperclip: compare shape and spacing

Elongated paperclip links create visible negative space and a different scale from a close, fine link. Compare length, width and construction, then show the design on the wrist so the customer can judge its proportions.

A longer link can affect where a finished piece can be adjusted. Include findings and any connector in the fitting plan. Keep a record of the actual link and ring combination that worked, rather than applying one assembly choice to every paperclip style.

3. Figaro: compare a repeating pattern

Figaro chains combine link shapes or lengths in a repeating pattern. They can add visual interest to a small assortment without requiring many decorative components. Check the specific pattern and dimensions on the product you intend to order.

Consider whether the pattern remains balanced around a connector and how the chain sits beside the finding. If you stock more than one width, label them clearly so a reorder does not substitute a different scale by mistake.

4. Curb and Cuban: compare the finished profile

Curb and Cuban names are used for related interlocking-link looks, with variation between suppliers. Compare the actual product image and specification. A flatter or stronger-looking profile can make a different statement from a delicate cable, but appearance does not establish load capacity.

Nina Wynn’s current chain assortment packs include listed styles such as Cuban and Figaro. Read the individual contents list before treating a pack as a particular five-style set. Purchasing units and assortment contents can vary.

5. Gemstone chain: compare color and construction

Gemstone chain introduces color within the chain itself, rather than only through a separate connector. Review the named stones, metal and attachment construction. Plan measuring and assembly around the specific design, following your training and the equipment guidance.

Keep customer descriptions precise. A colored station, enamel detail and natural gemstone are different product descriptions. If you want an interchangeable personal detail, compare a plain chain with birthstone bar connectors as another design route.

Turn comparisons into a smaller, clearer order

Select a small number of complementary looks, then record the alloy, SKU, buying unit, length on hand and compatible findings. Reserve enough material for practice and display samples before estimating what is available for sale.

Use actual requests and sales to decide which style earns more inventory. Our reordering guide explains how to track usable length and replenishment. For materials, begin with the gold and metal guide and confirm the specification on every product.
