About the Stone

Labradorite

Labradorite belongs to the plagioclase feldspar series. Its characteristic directional color effect is called labradorescence. The flash is related to internal structure, rather than a coating that must always be present on the surface. That general description does not rule out treatments or imitations in an individual item.

Care: Use a soft cloth for routine wiping. If appropriate for the mounting, gently hand clean with lukewarm mild soapy water, rinse, and dry promptly. Avoid steam, ultrasonic cleaning, high heat, sudden temperature changes, harsh chemicals, and hard knocks. Be cautious with any stone that has visible fractures.
